Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Hannah Sharpe, and I am the writer of this blog. Like you, I am a multifaceted person. I do not have just one attribute that makes up my identity, but rather many that form who I am as a whole.
First, you may know me as a writer. That’s right! But I am also a wife to a wonderful husband with whom I co-parent, and a mother of three young children. I started this blog about parenting, for parents, like me, who are trying to navigate the roller coaster that is parenting. Not only do I expect most of my readers to be parents, but also people who have identities beyond parenting. The different attributes that make each of us individuals are so important, and are not trumped by our role as parents. Rather, these attributes make us who we are as parents and as individuals. I believe that our uniqueness makes us special, and as parents we can come together and appreciate both our individual identities and our similarities. I hope my unique stories can offer a parenting perspective that resonates with many.
Beyond writing this blog I am learning to expand my writing practice. I am currently spending time writing children’s books, and exploring how to write a parenting book that will essentially be an expansion of this blog. Writing books has always been a big dream of mine, and there’s no better time than the present to do so.
Additionally, I have a master’s degree in nursing education. I teach at a local college full time, and am blessed to not only share my knowledge with students, but to learn so much from them. I have a background in emergency nursing which is a big influence in how I react to life situations and how I see the community in which I live.
My husband and I also dabble in business as a couple. We run a business from our home part time, and enjoy navigating this new-found opportunity.
Needless to say, I keep myself busy. But on a sunny Saturday afternoon you will likely find me outside, with my family. Either playing in our neighborhood, or out camping. Above all else, family holds my heart, my love, and my devotion. Without my family I would not be here with you now, and for that I am grateful.
